2024 August Partner Convening: From Partnerships to Collaboration

The August Partner Convening 2024 gathered North Sound partners together to explore collaboration with others to advance equity in the North Sound region. With this time together, we created space to expand from partnerships to collaborative action. Through collective learning and interactive sessions, participants shared best practices to drive positive change. Welcome and Connection

We welcome our audience for the August 2024 North Sound ACH Partner Convening, From Partnership to Collaboration.

Connecting and Collaborating

We created a few sessions of interaction and connection with ourselves and our neighbors.

Keynote Milenko Matanovic

Renowned community engagement expert Milenko Matanovic speaks about the conditions for successful collaboration: when it comes to community, together, we always know more. Milenko founded Pomegranate Center in 1986 believing that magic happens when art, creative thinking, and community join forces. Since then, he has worked with hundreds of communities across the country and abroad; collaborated with communities to build 60 gathering places, spoken at universities, community gatherings, and conferences; and worked with 1500 remarkable individuals in the Pomegranate Center approach to community building.

Regional Well-Being Survey

Members of the Measuring Well-Being Community of Practice will share about the upcoming Well-being Survey and dialogue creation and implementation process. Read more about this community of practice and the survey here.

Social Impact Films

We are partnering with some of the most amazing filmmakers in our region, in order to uplift the stories, experiences, and impact of our partners, as well as support these creative producers. We screened two films and one clip of a film in progress: Westshore Canoe Family by Children of the Setting Sun Productions, Fascia by Remy Styrkowicz, and a clip of one of our partner films currently in production, P’al Corazon, by Media for Development International with Burn the Box.

These are part of our portfolio of North Sound Voices – our media channel to bring experiences, ideas, and solutions from across the North Sound region to you. When we listen to, see, and learn from each other, we can do more than we ever could alone.

Reflections and Closing

We close our August convening with a song by Antone George (Lummi) and family, and remarks by North Sound ACH CEO Liz Baxter and convening participants.
