Brain Health and Dementia Resources

Conversations about brain health and dementia can be difficult—but they’re also very important! Taking care of our brains is key for healthy aging, and having access to trusted information and community support can make all the difference.

With the support from the BOLD grant through the Washington State Department of Health, we created a space for deeper understanding and connection around brain health in our communities.

Through Brain Health and Dementia Awareness workshops held in Spanish, our Care Coordination Specialist Guillermina Bazante shared timely and relevant information to our communities so they are aware and have access to tools like early detection signs. Folks shared stories, asked questions and explored how culture, aging, and caregiving are all intertwined.

Why Dementia Awareness?

Aging brings unique challenges, especially when in brain health and dementia care. For older adults, their families, and community professionals, understanding the range of available care options—such as in-home support, adult day programs, memory clinics, and assisted living—is essential. Each individual’s needs are different, and community-based professionals play a key role in connecting seniors and families to appropriate resources, guiding them through complex decisions, and ensuring access to support groups and educational tools.
