This article describes how CIELO, a local Indigenous organization, partnered with UCLA to create a map of Latin American Indigenous languages in L.A. County. The map is intended to help schools, hospitals, courts and police who should pay more attention to these language barriers because miscommunication, or failing to provide an interpreter, can have dire consequences.
